Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum Support Fund

The Be the Village – Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum Support Fund exists to provide education, hands-on birth support, and early postpartum in-home doula care to individuals and families who would otherwise not be able to access our support. With community-backed donations, we are able to offer our support at minimal or no cost to the individual through Doulas of Marquette.

By contributing to this fund, you are pouring directly into the physical, mental, and emotional health of birthing folx, mothers, fathers, and babies in our local community. You are not only recognizing the value of the village, but you are BEING the village. To make the most of your donations, we have chosen to waive our administration fees to further discount services provided through the fund.

Here are some examples of how funds from “Be the Village – Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum Support Fund” have supported families in our community:

  • Providing comfort measures and partner classes for families

  • Providing pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum education

  • Providing birth and postpartum doula support

  • Helping sustain Doulas of Marquette’s team by allowing us to support clients who are unable to access our care. Our focus can be fully on the families we work with, and we can have confidence that we can say “yes” when a need arises because of your donations!

Current Fund Balance as of 2/15/24: $324.95

Current Needs: Ongoing donations so we can continue to support local families in need!

“All UP families should be able to fully access education, birth support, and postpartum care in a way that is family-centered and compassionate, while also creating sustainability for those supporting them. This is what the Be the Village fund is for. Together, through community-supported funding, we can make a difference in the lives of families in need throughout our community.”

- Melinda Britton, Doulas of Marquette
